The ruby is a precious gemstone that has a long history as a symbol of love. Natural rubies are exceptionally rare and therefore very expensive. Created rubies are stones that are man-made but have the same mineral composition as naturally occuring rubies. When you buy a created ruby, you are buying a real ruby. It just wasn’t dug from the ground. Created rubies have many advantages. For one, created rubies are not mined from the earth and so they don’t have a negative environmental impact. Also since created rubies are more affordable, you are able to purchase a larger and better quailty stone.
The ruby is the birthstone for July and the 40th wedding anniversary is known as the ruby anniversary.
