Platinum and Rhodium
24 08 2009From a comment: Can you tell me the difference between platinum and rhodium? Thanks, Basha
Basha,
Platinum and rhodium are closely related, part of the same group on the periodic table, and rhodium is found in platinum ore when it is mined.
Rhodium, however, in unique in that it’s even more expensive than platinum – in fact, the most expensive of all the precious metals, which means it’s hard to come by solid rhodium jewelry. But it’s often used as an alloy, both with platinum jewelry and metals like white gold.
Hope that clears everything up for you.
